The Sisters of the Beach
SOB's) had their annual Christmas brunch at Flounders, enjoying champagne, food and lots of laughs.
Every year the SOB's, as they are affectionately called, pass the bucket for donations for charity and this year they chose fellow SOB and the club's only male member, Leroy Cardenas.
Cardenas, a longtime island resident, was in a motorcycle accident on the first night Via DeLuna opened to four lanes.
The funds raised will help supplement his income during his recovery. A website, www.getwellleroy.comoffers information and updates about his condition.
Every year after brunch the SOBs line up in convertibles, trucks, and other vehicles and parade down Via DeLuna to Jane Waters Cooper's house on Ariola Drive where they serenade her with the famous SOB toast and Christmas carols.
SOB membership is open to anyone interested.
