Vandals deface Gulf Breeze Presbyterian Church and city hall

Gulf Breeze police are investigating four incidents of vandalism that occurred in the early morning hours of Dec. 20.

Gulf Breeze Presbyterian Church, located at 100 Andrew Jackson Trail, a privacy fence facing shoreline drive, the recreation center and Gulf Breeze City Hall were all defaced with anti-government, and anti-religious statements. According to police reports, the vandals spray painted nine different areas on the church and also destroyed a security camera, valued at $500, at the rec. center.

According to police reports, vandals left messages like "Jesus ain't real cheese," "It makes no sense, you know it" and "Lighthouses are more useful than churches - Ben Franklin" at the presbyterian church.

The tennis courts and bathrooms at Shoreline park were also spray painted with similar messages. Police recovered a spray paint can at city hall and will process it for fingerprints. No arrests had been made as of press time.
