Dolphins hand Eagles first loss, tie defending champs
BY JASON THOMPSON Gulf Breeze News jason@gulfbreezenews.com

Ben Parrish, shown here in a recent Dolphin match, scored the game-winner in a 1-0 win over Niceville Dec. 12.
Ben Parrish has watched from his defender spot his twin brother Brad lead his team in scoring this season. But last week, it was Ben's turn.

Ben scored his first goal of the season with five minutes left in the first half. It would prove to be the difference as the Dolphins handed Niceville its first loss of the season 1-0 Dec. 12 at Dolphin Stadium.

Ben's shot went on the upper right hand corner of the net, but his leg banged the leg of an Eagle defender on the follow through. He would miss the rest of the game, but would play over the weekend in Jacksonville.

Hayes Sperry, playing for the injured Richard Benson, played the first 20 minutes before Tyler Willets played the rest of the game.

Willets, a sophomore, had to make several saves midway through the second half to keep the shutout intact.

Niceville had a corner kick and a free kick in the final minute, but couldn't tie the game.
