A joyous occasion
The JOY FOR THE BEACH singers give all in attendance a nice helping of Christmas spirit with joyful songs and sing alongs. Over 300 guests enjoyed a 75-minute JOY FOR THE BEACH concert, presented by The Pensacola Beach Optimist Club (PBOC), held at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church on the island Tuesday, Dec. 4. The audience was treated to a free 75-minute long set of Christmas singing by the Joy for the Beach Choir, lead by Karen Jurkowich, as well as lively dancing by the Show Stopper dancers directed by Monnette Hodges. After the final sing-along portion of the presentation, all were welcomed to a beautiful wine and dessert reception in Hunt Hall. This was only the second JOY FOR THE BEACH the Pensacola Beach Optimists put on for the community but it was greeted once more with such great enthusiasm from the crowds that work is already in process for next year's concert. "It kicks off the Christmas season here on the beach," said Mary Claus, PBOC president. "If folks came in without the Christmas spirit, I guarantee they sure left with a heaping helping of it."
