Cookies: great to eat and to 'gift'
The Bored with Cooking Club was born from emails sent from friend to friend, the sharing of easy yet tempting recipes to make food preparation a little easier with tried and true meals to make life easier. During the holidays many of us shift our thoughts from meal preparation to holiday gift items, and these recipes will both thrill the family and serve as a fabulous gift items!
Credited to "someone at Studer Group," this recipe comes with great praise attached to it. Gary Guay says they are some of the best he's eaten, so you can count on this recipe! You can make the dough and refrigerate it overnight, if desired.
Oatmeal cookie recipe
1 cup margarine
¾ cup packed brown sugar
¼ cup regular sugar
1 pkg. (4 oz.) vanilla instant
pudding
2 large eggs
1 ½ cups all purpose flour
1 tsp. Baking soda
3 cups oats (cooks in 5 minutes
kind)
Optional: raisins, nuts, chocolate
chips, coconut, dried cranberries,
in any combination you
desire.
Mix the first five ingredients. Stir
in the flour and baking soda. Add
the oats and raisins. Make
dough balls the size of golf balls.
Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10
minutes..... enjoy!
Another recipe anonymously contributed is the following for Chocolate Freaks' Delight. As a bonafide chocolate freak, I can vouch for the delicious quality of these very easy to create morsels. In fact these are so easy, the practically bake themselves....
Chocolate Freaks' Delight
One box of Ghiradelli double
chocolate brownies (prepared
as detailed on box)
One box of Duncan Hines chewy
fudge brownies (prepared as
detailed on box)
1 - 8 oz bag of chocolate semi
sweet morsels
Mix both boxes of brownie mix as directed with oil and eggs; fold in semi sweet morsels. Spoon onto greased cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for approx 15 minutes or until done. Cool completely. Serve with ice cold milk and try not to eat way too many!
