BY JASON THOMPSON Gulf Breeze News jason@gulfbreezenews.com
Courtney Brown (GBHS c/o '06) competed in her first swim meet for Auburn University on Nov. 16, finishing fifth in the 1 meter diving category with a score of 148.71 points. Auburn beat Alabama 144-97 in the Nov. 16 meet.

Doug Baldwin (c/o '07) did what he could to give the Stanford Cardinal a chance to beat Notre Dame Saturday.

Baldwin had four kickoff returns totalling 110 yards, including a 42-yarder that put Stanford in business near midfield after the Irish took a 21-14 fourth quarter lead. But two dropped passes in the end zone, plus four missed field goals, would doom the Cardinal.

Baldwin's 24.7 yards per kickoff return average is fifth-best in the Pac 10 Conference. Gulf Breeze resident Jeff Van Camp (NHS c/o '06) can say he was on the field with a possible Heisman trophy winner (Florida's Tim Tebow), playing quarterback in Florida Atlantic's 59-20 loss to the Gators Nov. 17.

Van Camp completed 2-of- 4 passes for 19 yards as the Owls were within eight of the Gators in the second quarter before Florida pulled away.
