The Gulf Breeze Dolphin basketball team pulled off what racetrack betters would call a trifecta in their season openers at Panama City Mosley Nov. 19 - both teams won, won big and everyone scored.
Dolphins 78, Mosley 42
Matt Patrick was one of four players in double figures as Gulf Breeze rolled to an easy victory.
Patrick had 15 points for the Dolphins, who led 48-25 at the half. Brian Shreve added 12 points, while Jeff White had 11 and Alec Cann had 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Zach Andrews had nine points, while Erik Mims had six, Garrett Carr five, David Hibberts four and Matt Catellier, Bo Peardon and Marcus Smith all had two each.
Hibberts had seven rebounds and three steals, while Catellier had three assists.
The Dolphins got back home real late - GBHS and Mosley combined for 50 free throw attempts in the second quarter alone.
Dolphin JV 75, Mosley 51
Joey Bodovetz hit four threepointers and finished with 25 points as the Dolphin JV cruised past Mosley.
Ryan O'Hara had 12 points and 11 rebounds, while freshman Jaylin Coulter added 11.
Gulf Breeze played PHS at Woodham Tuesday in their District 1-4A opener before traveling to Jay to take on the Royals tonight. The JV plays at 4:30 p.m., followed by the varsity at 7:30.
