Lady Dolphins play Nease to 0-0 tie
.One or both teams have played for state title six of last eight years

The Gulf Breeze Lady Dolphin soccer team bounced back from a loss to St. John's Country Day to play St. Augustine Nease to a 0-0 tie Nov. 17 in Tallahassee.

Nease has won three of the last five 4A state championships, the first of which came against Gulf Breeze in 2002.

Lady Dolphins 7, Catholic 0

Defenders Amanda Green and Aubrey Curington scored their first goals of the season Nov. 19 in Pensacola, becoming the 13th and 14th players to register points for the Lady Dolphins this year.

Green's came off a penalty kick in the 13th minute after Jessica Majewski was taken down in the Catholic box.

Five minutes later, Noelle Robles fielded a pass from Jesse Vickrey and fired a shot that went through the Catholic keeper's hands. Another five minutes later, Majewski settled another Vickrey pass and put it away for a 3-0 lead.

Vickrey added a goal in the 27th minute, scoring on a shot from about 20 yards off a pass from Alyssa Smith.

The Lady Dolphin junior varsity soccer team won the Rutherford Tournament Nov. 17 in Panama City.
Curington redirected a corner kick from Robles into the net to make it 5-0 in the 32nd minute. Gulf Breeze led 5-0 at the half.

Majewski posted her team-leading seventh and eighth assists of the season in the second half. She sent a ball from the right side across the goal mouth to Smith, who put it in for her third of the season.

Maggie Rodgers added her fifth of the season in the 53rd minute off a corner kick by Majewski.

Ashley Collins played the first half in goal, while Anne Preston played the second half.

Lady Dolphin JV 7, Catholic 0

Jenna Ceravolo and Colleen Eastburn both scored twice - the fifth and sixth of the season - to lead GBHS past Catholic.

Peyton Fleming scored her first of the season, while Morgan Floyd and Camila Sharp also scored once. Lauren Davis and Breezy Paulus both played a half in goal for Gulf Breeze.

Floyd, who has 11 on the season, scored seven of those goals in the Rutherford Tournament in Panama City, which the Lady Dolphins won on Nov. 17.

Megan Eastburn scored twice in an 8-0 win over Tallahassee Leon. Ceravolo, Danielle Dobson, Colleen Eastburn, Floyd homeauctionFlorida.and Sharp all scored once. Floyd netted four goals in an 8-0 win over Arnold. Megan Eastburn added two, while Dobson and Colleen Eastburn had one each.

Floyd scored the lone goal in a 1-0 win over the host team before GBHS beat Mosley 3-2 in the final. Megan Eastburn scored on a penalty kick, while Floyd and Jessica Watson scored one each.

"Lauren Davis played in goal the last two games and did an amazing job," coach Christie Caldwell said. "She saved the team many times."

Gulf Breeze's JV is 8-0 on the season, outscoring the opposition 43-3.
