Navarre plans Christmas in the Park Dec. 1

Navarre's Annual "Christmas in the Park," sponsored by the Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, will be held on Saturday, Dec. 1 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Navarre Park at the foot of the Navarre bridge.

This year's event will include a Christmas parade that will begin at 4 p.m. at Winn Dixie and end at Regions Bank.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available for photos with children from 4:30 - 7:30 p.m. There is no charge to visit Santa, photos are $1 each. Free baked goods will be available at Mrs. Claus' bakery starting at 3 p.m. and a raffle will be held with a variety of gifts to include eight children's bicycles.

New this year, a 20 foot Christmas tree will be erected in the park and will be decorated with giant snowflakes sponsored by area citizens. The tree lighting will take place at 5 p.m. and will be followed by entertainment featuring local schools and organizations from Navarre.
