Condiment burglar hits Cancun's A man attempting to steal beer from a local restaurant ended up with only a pocketful of condiments and a scraped hand. Jereb Shane Johnson, 20, was arrested just before 11:30 p.m. on Nov. 21 outside of Cancun's Mexican Grill, located on the 1300 block of Shoreline Drive in Gulf Breeze. Johnson was booked on felony burglary and larceny charges after allegedly admitting to officers that he stole seven packets of condiments from the restaurant because "he was hungry and just looking for some food." Police say Johnson later admitted to trying to loot beer from the popular Mexican eatery. According to a police report, Gulf Breeze Police responded to a call concerning suspicious activity at the restaurant and found Johnson and an underage girl nearby. A window on the west side of the restaurant had been smashed. The report says the responding officer spotted Johnson walking out of the rear exit of the restaurant with blood smeared on his white shirt. The officer arrested Johnson and noticed a minor scratch on Johnson's hand. The officer also noticed the smell of alcohol on his breath. When asked how he cut himself, Johnson allegedly replied: "It doesn't matter." When asked what he was doing in the business while it was closed, Johnson allegedly removed several packets of mustard, ketchup and salad dressing from his pocket and said: "I was hungry and this is what I took." Police questioned the girl also found at the scene, who was not arrested and not identified because she was minor, and discovered that Johnson intended to steal beer. Police questioned Johnson about the beer and he allegedly admitted to taking a case of beer out of the cooler and leaving it in the restaurant. The report says police located a 12 pack of Sol Beer just outside the walk-in cooler.
