Kristen Dorsey became GBHS' first ever Division I female signee in golf, signing with Kansas State University Thursday. "I was shocked, it's a great honor," Dorsey said of the honor. "I hope I do well up there."
Dorsey led the Lady Dolphin golf team to a sixth place finish at the recent 2A state meet. "We're all very excited for her," said coach/athletic director Mark Kostic. "Kristen's worked hard for four years and is ready for the next level."
Dorsey says the coach (Kristi Knight) was the main reason for choosing K-State - but sheepishly admitted another.
"They had the best dorms," the daughter of Tom and Gail Dorsey said. "It's going to be your home for four years. You don't want to come back to a not so nice dorm."
