The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV) celebrated the opening of a new office last month during a ribbon cutting ceremony.

"The people of Gulf Breeze needed a new office, and after months of hard work from DHSMV members, they now have it," said DHSMV Executive Director Electra Bustle. "We are excited about the opportunity to better serve our customers. Our customers expect excellence from us and with our new office we can now help customers have a positive experience when doing business with the Department."

The old Gulf Breeze office was destroyed by Hurricane Ivan in 2004. As the people of Gulf Breeze started to put their communities back together, an office was set up in a temporary location and the Escambia Tax Collector added equipment to Tax Collector's offices to help meet the needs of the customers.

"This new facility represents the unwavering commitment the Department has when it comes to

making changes that matter to you.' Ivan created a need. And that need has been met through a combination of determination, commitment and hard work," said the Director of the Division of Driver Licenses Sandra Lambert.

The office will be open five days a week for business. Appointments for all offices can be made online at http://oasis.hsmv.state.fl.us/. Customers are still encouraged to skip the trip altogether and use our online services at www.GoRenew.com.
