St. Paul holds charity Thanksgiving dinner
BY PAM BRANNON Gulf Breeze News news@gulfbreezenews.com

Pam Brannon/Gulf Breeze News Members of St. Paul United Methodist Church will hold a charity Thanksgiving dinner on Nov. 22 from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m. The meal is free and open to the public.
Some members of the St. Paul's United Methodist Church of Gulf Breeze will be giving up their time at home Thanksgiving Day to be at the church. They will be organizing, preparing and serving a community Thanksgiving dinner, especially for anyone who might not be able to cook for themselves, or don't have family to share the day with. The dinner will be served from 12 to 4 p.m. -- or until all the food is gone.

This is the second year St. Paul's is hosting the dinner. Last year they ended up about 200 people walking through the line by the end of the day.

"We even served a man who said he had not eaten in three days. And there were seniors there who could not cook for themselves and they so enjoyed the day. That makes it all worthwhile," said Andrea Short, outreach chairman for the church.

The meal is being offered free to anyone who wants to participate. The menu will include 20 smoked turkeys, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes and gravy, salads, corn, yams, dressing, and all the trimmings, including assorted rolls and breads and pies.

The dinner will be served in the fellowship hall at the church on Highway 98, near Midway.
