Legacy remembered

Members of Nancy Keyes' family and Meg Peltier with the Gulf Breeze Area Chamber of Commerce stand behind a memorial dedicated in Keyes' honor on Nov. 10.The memorial, a Great Dane statue imported from London, stands in the Shoreline Bark Park as a tribute to Keyes' dedication to Gulf Breeze and animals. The Gulf Breeze Dog Lovers Association petitioned the City of Gulf Breeze to name the new dog park: "The Shoreline Bark Park: Dedicated to the Memory of Nancy Keyes." Keyes is credited with establishing the chamber's annual PetFest and was an important member of the chamber staff in the 1990's.
