Bubba's Beach
We left New Orleans Monday and we get back on Saturday. Me and Lishous have never been on a cruise. It is a hoot. This is a big boat and it even has its own barber shop! I've never gotten a haircut on the water and I won't do it again; my head looks like a road map of Louisiana! We have never seen such food. There is breakfast, the before breakfast meal, lunch, the three o'clock tea with cookies, then dinner, after dinner, the late night buffet and then the food at the bars. I may have to get a larger room. The captain had us join his table the first night out, but we had to leave early when 'Lishous asked him, "Does the ship have its own power supply?" I guess she thought there was a long extension cord that we left plugged in at New Orleans! He looked at her the way my dog, Rolex, looks at me when I show him a card trick! Our room is small, but the bed is big enough for me to roll over at least once. There are a lot of foreign people on board, but we both speak fluent "Southern" so we could talk to most of them. We met some people from Oklahoma that wanted to know "what do y'all put in the water to make it all them pretty colors?" I tried to explain sand bars and deeper water to him, but he didn't get it, which was fine, cause I don't understand cows and corn either. This is a ship of IGMO's! I asked a guy in uniform what he did and he said he was the "purser." Well, I didn't see a purse, nor did I ever see him carry any ladies purse. I'm just glad he wasn't a "wallet-er!" You don't tip on these things, it is added to you bill. Well, I thought I had the option, but NOOOOOO, you get charged for it regardless of what type of service you get. At breakfast yesterday a waiter from France asked me if I wanted breakfast. I said, "What are my choices?" He said, "Yes or NO!" I sure wouldn't have tipped that dude anything! I don't like this system, cause I end up paying double. 'Lishous tips anyway, and a lot. She is a former wait staff person and always tips way too much. It makes her feel important to tip a lot. I tip if it is deserved, and this tipping is going to cost us more than the trip will cost. But, every time I tell her that "tips are included," she tips more. She is going to feel like the president of a small country when this trip is over, she has tipped so much. I got in trouble today trying to fish over the side of the boat. I guess I should have gone to the back of the ship, but the wake was very large there and I didn't want to catch the big fish, cause that is way to much work for me. I'm going to try it again tonight after the crew is all gone to bed. I'm glad I brought extra line, it sure is a long way to the water from the side of this boat. We'll be in Mexico tomorrow and maybe I can sell what I catch there. That could help even up some of the tipping cost, if I can catch enough. It's fun being rich. Just thought you'd like to know... |
