GBHS to send six swimmers to state

The Gulf Breeze High swim team will be represented by five females and one male at Friday's 2A state swim meet at the Central Florida YMCA Aquatic Center in Orlando.

Michala Nowak and Jacqueline St. Louis will be competing in four events, while Aileen Atzhorn is in three. Ellyn Schroeder qualified in two events, while Ashley Ogurek and Ross Gunn, the lone male, are swimming in one event each.

The individual winners from each region, plus the next 20 fastest times for individuals (12 for relays), qualified for state. The following is a list of all GBHS swimmers who competed at regionals, with an asterisk (*) designating the state qualifiers. Only competitors in the 'A' final were eligible to qualify for state:

The girls finished fifth regionals (184) out of 25 teams that scored points. The boys were 14th (59) out of 25 teams.
