It's a ball at PBES' Fall Festival

The old fashioned ways of having fun are still the best, it appeared, as throngs crowded the parking lot of Pensacola Beach Elementary School Friday evening.

As crowds enjoyed the cake walk, boys stood in line to throw a hoop in hopes of ringing a 2-liter soft drink and others took their shot throwing a football into a plywood cut out featuring some local favorite college football teams, you'd never guess that the big fair, with a professional midway was across town competing for their attention.

The annual fundraiser is one of the major funding sources for the charter school, and organizers are still tallying the amount that came in on Friday.

The event encompassed the entire beach community, with several businesses and individuals contributing.

Entertainment was provided by dancers from Monette Hodges academy, and part of the appeal was seeing other students and parents when there was plenty of opportunity to stop and talk.
