Sheriff's Office Helps Establish Neighborhood Watch in Gulf Breeze Tomorrow Tiger Point starts crime watch program The residents of Tiger Trace Subdivision have hung "Neighborhood Watch" signs to get the word out that they have established a crime watch program. Tiger Trace Subdivision will become a safer place to live with bicycle registration, fingerprinting of children and crime prevention education. "In the month of August, crime was up in the Gulf Breeze area, and we hope other residents will see the Tiger Trace community step up and they will do the same," says Deputy Eric Rosensweig. "Citizens getting involved makes a difference. I am one of two deputies for a 26 sq. mile area and we can't be everywhere. With citizens involved we could cut this crime down." "Tiger Trace is sometimes used as a cut-through between Highway 98 and Villa Venyce and we've been doing traffic control for over one year and have issued a lot of tickets for speeding and running stop signs. Traffic violations are now down 50 percent since they have hired an off-duty deputy to monitor their traffic control. A lot of people who used to speed through are now thinking twice." |
