Girls cross country third, boys fourth at Wildcat Invitational

The Gulf Breeze girls cross country team took third and the boys fourth at the Wildcat Invitational Oct. 16 in Pace.

Gulf Breeze finished with 85 points, which was bettered by only Murphy, out of Mobile (59) and Pine Forest (73). A total of 11 full teams competed in the meet.

Emily Tryon was second overall (out of 75 runners) with a time of 20:34.93. Jennifer Pfeifler was fourth (20:42.67).

Rebecca Smith was 12th (22:04.68), followed by Lauren Musick (28th - 23:15.57), Katie Aldridge (39th - 24:10.61), Briana Santiago (40th - 24:11.96) and Meghan Kirby (51st - 25:09.11).

The boys team was fourth with 83 points. Washington won the meet (36), followed by Navarre (55) and Pine Forest (73).

Will Thomas finished eighth (out of 87 runners) with a time of 17:39.79, while Davis Thomas was 15th (17:46.44).

Geoffrey Brill was 16th overall (17:52.40), followed by Dylan Lee (21st - 18:09.90), Tommy Gibble (25th - 18:23.26), Chad Robin (30th - 18:43.51) and Aber Wilson (31st - 18:45.07).

GBHS will compete in the EscaRosa Championships Saturday at the Pensacola Equestrian Center.
