Optimist Golf Tournament rescheduled

The Optimist Club of Gulf Breeze eighth Annual Golf Tournament, which was scheduled for last Friday, has been rescheduled for Nov. 9. at Osceola Golf Course in Pensacola.

Lunch will be served from 10:30-11:40 a.m. Shotgun start is at noon. Additional golfers and sponsors are welcome.

U13 baseball team seeking sponsors

The Gulf Breeze Slammers, a U13 travel baseball team, is seeking sponsors for the 2008 season.

Sponsors for the Slammers, coached by George Scarborough, Jon Burkett and Tim Wise, can help defray costs for uniforms, equipment, team insurance and tournament entry fees.

Registration for the 2008 GBSA basketball season runs through Oct. 31. A $10 late registration fee will be assessed after Oct. 31.

Youth wrestling camp starts Nov. 5 at GBMS

Ayouth wrestling camp - Fun and Fundamentals with Olympic Coach Rob Hermann - will begin Nov. 5 at Gulf Breeze Middle School.

The camp, which costs $40 per month, will be on Mondays from 6:30-8 p.m. Discounts are available for more than one participants. Friendly meets will be set up for cooperating youth programs in the area and nearby towns. A Christmas Clinic will also be set up at a date to be determined.

GBHS grad, current minor leaguer to offer pitching lessons

Steven Cheney, a 2004 GBH Grad and current member of the New York Mets organization, will offer pitching lessons to area youth though early February. Ages 8 & up. Call for more information 932-5036 / 554-2296.

Plans underway for Dolphin Alumni Game

The GBHS Baseball program is interested in fielding an alumni game in the future.

Attention Business and Community Members of Gulf Breeze: If you are approached by any company soliciting funds for Gulf Breeze High School athletics, please demand verification of fundraiser by asking for the school authorization letter, which all authorized solicitors must possess to solicit for the school.

The GBHS Quarterback Club is looking for parents to work the concession stand during the five varsity football games this season. Date volunteers are needed is Nov. 9.

The GBHS Quarterback Club are looking for sponsors for the pregame coin flip before each of the five varsity games during the season.

For $100, sponsors get an announcement of their business in front of thousands of high school football fans. Dates available are Oct. 19 and Nov. 9.
