Sports Briefs The Optimist Club of Gulf Breeze eighth Annual Golf Tournament is Friday October 19 at Osceola Golf Course in Pensacola. Shotgun start at 1 p.m. Single players $60, teams $240, corporate sponsors for $300/$400/$500. All proceeds benefit youth programs. Gulf Breeze Junior Pro tryouts start Oct. 22 Tryouts for boys and girls' Junior Pro basketball in Gulf Breeze are Oct. 22- 25 at the Rec Center. Tryouts for the girls' U12 and U14 teams are Oct. 22 and 24 from 7-9 p.m., while the boys' U12 and U14 tryouts are from 7-9 p.m. Cost is $130 per person, with non residents paying $135. U13 baseball team seeking sponsors The Gulf Breeze Slammers, a U13 travel baseball team, is seeking sponsors for the 2008 season. Youth wrestling camp starts Nov. 5 at GBMS A youth wrestling camp - Fun and Fundamentals with Olympic Coach Rob Hermann - will begin Nov. 5 at Gulf Breeze Middle School. The camp, which costs $40 per month, will be on Mondays from 6:30-8 p.m. Discounts are available for more than one participants. Friendly meets will be set up for cooperating youth programs in the area and nearby towns. A Christmas Clinic will also be set up at a date to be determined.
