JAMIE VINER GIDDIS
Jamie Viner Giddis, 45, of Collierville, Tenn. passed away October 5, 2007, after a long battle with colon cancer. Her courage and strength served as an inspiration to everyone she touched. Jamie entered this world on August 2, 1962 in Yazoo City, Miss. After graduating from Delta State University in 1984, Jamie moved to Dallas, Texas with her family and became a flight attendant with American Airlines. Jamie worked for American Airlines for 22 years, her entire working career. In 1987, Jamie and Kevin Giddis were married in Mississippi. They lived in Dallas for twelve years and moved to Collierville, Tenn. in 1998. Caroline Giddis was born in 1993 and is an eighth grader at St. George Independent School. Even though Jamie's illness set her back, she was an active member at Collierville United Methodist Church. Her artistic abilities are still on exhibit at Sycamore Elementary School and her church. Jamie's warm spirit and smiling face will be sorely missed, but our lives are so much better because she was here. She is survived by her loving husband, Kevin and her beautiful daughter, Caroline. She leaves her mother, Betty Viner Fletcher and father by marriage, James Fletcher; her sister, Stacy Donald and her husband, Mitch; two brothers, Jim Viner and his wife, Veronica and Scott Viner and his wife, Stephanie; mother-inlaw, Donna Giddis; father-inlaw, Jim Giddis and his wife, Pat; two sisters-in-law, Linda Shepherd and Rayanne Sapp; five nieces; five nephews; and one great-nephew. Poplar, and visitation was held from 5-8 p.m., Sunday, also at the church. Interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
