Oktoberfest begins tomorrow

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, located at 4257 Gulf Breeze Parkway, will be hosting their 18th Annual Oktoberfest on Friday, Oct. 19 and Saturday, Oct. 20. Admission is free.

The festival will include German-style food and drink, unique crafter's exhibits, live and silent auction, garage sale, bake sale, children's carnival and live entertainment.

The German food menu consist of a Bratwurst platter, seasoned baked chicken, homemade sauerkraut and German potato salad. Also, the Greenery Cafe and Weinstube in Gulf Breeze will provide their tempting cheesecakes for those with a sweet tooth. All of this will be served Friday and Saturday 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Brat sandwiches with sauerkraut, hot dogs, and chips will be available on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The entertainment for the two day event will feature the Lifeline Band, and Black Elvis Friday night the Sawmill Band from Chumuckla will be there, in addition to a taekwondo exhibition. The Good Shepherd Lutheran School children will sing and many more entertainers are scheduled as well.

An auctioneer will host a live auction featuring handmade crafts, homemade quilts, wall hangings, and lap robes made by Good Shepherd's Lady Crafters. It's a great opportunity to bid on handmade gifts prior to the holidays.

Saturday morning activities begin at 6 a.m. with a garage sale and bake sale. Participants can tour our church campus to see the latest model cars from Saturn of Pensacola, and designer RVs from Emerald Coast RV. Food and drink will be served throughout the day.

Good Shepherd's Oktoberfest will be featured on the "Beaches to Woodlands" tour sponsored by the Santa Rosa Tourist Development Council. For more information, please call the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church office staff at 850-932-3263.
