Local obstetrician wears many hats well
Dr. Griffin is dedicated to giving her patients high quality care, and that is one of the reasons she decided to open her own private practice. "I wanted to take care of my patients in a certain fashion," Dr. Griffin says, which includes listening not only to what they say, but also what is not said. "I try to read between the lines, so to speak, to find out what is really bothering them." She opened her office in Gulf Breeze in 1998, and her many patients rely on Dr. Griffin for gynecological surgery, including laparoscopic, high and low risk pregnancies and in-office ultrasounds. She also sees patients once a week at the Baptist Medical Park on Nine Mile Road in Pensacola. Dr. Griffin also treats patients with irregular bleeding, pelvic pain, endometriosis, depression associated with hormone changes, urinary tract infections, fibroids and prescribes birth control. As a surgeon, Dr. Griffin sometimes prescribes an endometrial oblation as an alternative to typical hysterectomy. Being a wife and mother herself, Dr. Griffin has life experiences to help her empathize with her patients. She also has earned board certification in obstetrics and gynecology. One of the newer treatments Dr. Griffin advocates is the use of Gardisil vaccine to prevent the sexually transmitted HPV virus. It is administered to young women to reduce the risk of cervical cancer and genital herpes. Dr. Griffin has privileges at Sacred Heart, Baptist and Gulf Breeze Hospitals. She is accepting new patients and accepts practically all insurance plans. To schedule an appointment, call Dr. Griffin at (850) 916-4300. |
