GBSA football goes 5-3 against Milton

Gulf Breeze Sports Association's football program went 5-3 against Milton Saturday at Shoreline Park.

Blue Midgets 14,

Milton Gold 0

Gulf Breeze's Blue Midgets improved to a program best 5-1 with a win over Milton Gold.

Landon Cagle threw two touchdown passes to Randy Halpin. He also completed passes to Carson Sharp, Cooper Jones and T.J. Baughn.

Defensively, Adam Foley, Preston Sellers and Baughn all had interceptions. David Crowhurst, Sellers and Michael Neal were the leading tacklers.

Milton Black Mites 30,

Gulf Breeze White 8

The GBSA White Mini Mites fell to 4-2 on the season with a loss to Milton Black.

Mighty Mites 27, Milton 0

Coleman Burtt had two touchdowns and two extra point runs as the Mighty Mites improved to 4-2 with a shutout of Milton.

Chandler Burtt had a 50-yard touchdown run, while Nathan Golman had a 37-yard touchdown, as well as an extra point. Ben Petrovic recovered a fumble and recorded a quarterback sack, while Caden Castillo, Kevin Dorf, Broady Ferguson, Tekoah Roby, Paul Snider and Ethan Turner controlled the line of scrimmage.

Blue Mini Mites 7,

Milton Gold 6

Bailey Wilson's tackle on the game's final play clinched a win for the Blue Mini Mites (3-3) over Milton Gold.

Tristan Covell had 63 yards rushing on seven carries and the Dolphins' lone touchdown, while Brian Joyner had 32 yards rushing and the extra point run.

Nolan Remig had 40 yards passing, going 5-for-7. Wilson had four tackles, including a fourth down sack.

Hayden Hill and Josh Hartley recovered fumbles for the Dolphins.

White Midgets 21,

Milton Black 0

Robbie McLin scored two touchdowns, while the defense allowed only one first down as the Gulf Breeze White Midgets improved to 3-3 with a win over Milton Black.

McLin scored on a first quarter run of five yards and a second quarter run of four yards, thanks to the blocking up front by Nick Duggar, Tristan Hicks, Jonathon Dorf, Benji Diaz, Joey Lennon and Griffin Battel. Andy Creech added a five-yard touchdown run, as well as an extra point run and an interception on defense.

Kale Jarvis completed a pair of passes to both Connor Crooke and David Alverson and also had a two-point kick.

White Mini Mites 12,

Milton Gold 6

Gulf Breeze (3-3) kept Milton off the board until 13 seconds left in the game and recovered an onside kick to seal a win over Milton Gold.

Tyler Dittmer scored two 55- yard touchdowns, thanks to some blocking from Nathan Herrick, Jake Weldon and Nick Whibbs. Quarterback J.C. Carroll was able to throw passes to both Dittmer and Whibbs thanks to the blocking up front by Jake Molina, Ben Zimmer, Brandon Klisart, Colton Hines, Brian Childers and Jacob Brandon.

Steele Chambers had some tough runs and made some equally tough tackles on defense. Andrew Houser, Ian Vaught and Antonio Mauro also had strong games on defense.

Chambers and Dittmer both had six tackles, while Herrick and Weldon had four each and Colton Hines and Klisart three each. Hines also recovered a fumble in the win.

Milton Juniors 18,

Gulf Breeze 0

The Dolphins drove inside the Milton 20 in the closing minutes, but couldn't punch it in as Milton blanked Gulf Breeze (3-3).

Milton Gold Mites 20,

Gulf Breeze Blue 0

The Blue Mites fell to 1-5 on the year after being shut out by Milton Gold.

Gulf Breeze plays at Navarre Saturday in district competition. Wins by the Blue Midgets and the Juniors would put them at 2- 0 in district play and a berth in the playoffs.
