MARTIN STUART SPURLOCK SR. 1937 - 2007

Martin Stuart Spurlock Sr. of Pensacola passed away on September 19, 2007.

Martin was born on February 15, 1937 in Shreveport, La. His family moved to Milton in 1955 where he graduated from Milton High School. Martin retired from Air Products in 1993. He was a member of Plainview Baptist Church and was ordained as a Deacon on September 21, 2003.

Martin was preceded in death by his father, Emmett Martin Spurlock and his brother, John E. Spurlock.

He is survived by his mother, Anita M. Spurlock of Milton; wife, Katharine Spurlock; children Maureen Hoffert (DuWayne) of Gulf Breeze, Martin S. Spurlock Jr. of Pensacola and Heather Spurlock of Annapolis, MD; granddaughters Lauren Cloer (Mat) of Tallahassee and Sarah Hoffert of Gulf Breeze; sister Sylvia K. Spurlock of Milton, brother Noel L. Spurlock (Kay) of Pace and a niece Amy Spurlock of Columbia, S.C.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 21, 2007 at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.

Funeral services were held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 22, 2007 at the funeral home with Pastor Bill Flannigan officiating.

Interment followed at Pensacola Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Plainview Baptist Church, 1101 W Nine Mile Road, Pensacola, FL32534 or Covenant Hospice, 5041 N 12th Avenue, Pensacola, FL32504 in memory of Martin Stuart Spurlock.
