New hotels planned for Pensacola Beach

The first phase of the luxury hotel "Indigo" is planned for the site of the former Holiday Inn on Pensacola Beach.
The first phase of what will be a huge resort hotel is going to get underway, and Portofino announces the final phase of its project as both received conceptual approval from the Santa Rosa Island Authority last week. The SRIA also approved a conceptual plan to build on the site of the former Windjammer condos a mixed use hotel/condo that is slated to bear the Embassy Suites flag.

Little Sabine Inc. got the OK to build a 162-unit, nine-story hotel consisting of seven habitable stories and two stories of parking. It is slated to be a three phase project with 670 rooms in total.

The area's first Embassy Suites Hotel and Convention facility is slated to break ground in July of 2008. The facility will be constructed adjacent to the Hilton Pensacola Beach.
The final phase of Portofino is a mixed use plan with both condos and hotel rooms.
