HEALTH BRIEFS David Cleveland is the newest member of the Gulf Breeze Hospital Community board of directors. Cleveland currently serves as senior vice president for The Highpointe Hotel Corporation. Board members also act as liaisons between the hospital and the community. They are a resource for input, feedback and public awareness, aiding the facility in making sound, wellrounded decisions about facilities, staff and services. Cleveland serves on the 10- member Gulf Breeze Hospital board with Harrison Wilder, Anita S. Westafer, M.D., Michael J. Mazenko, Suzie Gilchrist, Msgr. Luke Hunt, Larry Bowyer, Innes Richards, Shirley L. Brown and Stephen F.X. Zieman, D.D.S. Health department offers vaccines The Santa Rosa County Health Department began offering all vaccines recommended for adults, including flu and pneumonia shots on Oct. 1. The vaccines include, Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR); Meningococcal; hepatitis A and B; Human Papillomavirus (HPV) for women; Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis (TDP); varicella (chickenpox); flu and pneumonia. Flu and pneumonia shots are available on a walk-in basis. Flu shots cost $20 and Pneumonia shots are $25. The cost for other immunizations varies, depending on the type. Vaccines are available at the Gulf Breeze Clinic (across from The Zoo) on Highway 98 on Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.. Flu clinics will also be offered on Oct. 4 and 8 at the Gulf Breeze location from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. All clinics are closed the third Wednesday of each month for staff training.
