Baptist to open second campus at Navarre medical park

Submitted photo The second campus of the Baptist Medical Park Navarre will officially be open to the public after a ribbon cutting ceremony today at 5:15 p.m.
Baptist Medical Park Navarre this month unveiled its second campus facility to better meet the needs of the growing community. The Navarre staff and physician partners will host a grand opening of the $6 million, 28,630-square-foot medical office building located at 8880 Navarre Parkway Thursday, Oct. 4 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Already 10 physicians are seeing patients in the building including Michael Barber, M.D., women's health; Paul Hilbert, D.P.M., podiatry; Wayne Cartee, M.D., gastroenterology; Carl Speer, M.D., gastroenterology; Michael Shawbitz, M.D., neurology; Layne Yonehiro, M.D., general surgery; Robert Rubey, M.D., general surgery; John Tucker, M.D., general surgery; Paula Pyle, M.D., ear-nose-throat specialist; and Christopher Bookout, M.D., orthopaedics.

A department of Baptist Health Care affiliate Gulf Breeze Hospital, Baptist Medical Park Navarre provides outpatient rehabilitation, laboratory and diagnostic imaging services for one of the fastest growing areas in Santa Rosa County. Plans are being finalized to bring an urgent care clinic and an occupational medicine clinic to the park by January 2008. Improvements and expansions at Baptist Medical Park Navarre will support efforts to ensure the future health needs of the community.

A ceremonial ribbon cutting directed by the Navarre Area Chamber of Commerce will take place during the grand opening at 5:15 p.m. Guests are invited to visit the park for tours of the new medical office building and the original facility.
