JEFFREY CRAIG SCHROEDER

Jeffrey Craig Schroeder, 48, of Gulf Breeze, Florida, died on September 15, 2007, on Whidbey Island, Washington, after a ninemonth battle with pancreatic cancer.

Jeff's passions were many and varied, and included sailing, jazz (was known to play the trombone occasionally), all things computer-related, and was known by name, before it closed, at Hopkins Boarding House (particularly on fried chicken days). After learning about celestial navigation, he loved passing this knowledge on to others, and taught several classes through the years at the Pensacola Beach Yacht Club. Jeff loved traveling the world in his role as technical manager of global sports marketing for Unisys (where he worked for more than 26 years), and he designed the scoring system used in professional golf around the world.

Jeff is survived by his childhood playmate and wife, Julie Fruitticher; and the children of his heart, Catie Charnock and Alex and Zack Bell; and two brothers, Tom Schroeder of Wisconsin and James Schroeder of Pensacola. He will be greatly missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.

A memorial service was held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 29, 2007 at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, on the corner of Alcaniz and Jackson, in Pensacola, Florida.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the memorial the family is in the process of setting up in Jeff's memory. A bronze statue is being planned to depict the history of celestial navigation for sailing vessels, which will be erected along the waterfront Jeff loved so dearly. Temporarily donations can be mailed to Julie Schroeder care of P.O. Box 95, Gulf Breeze, FL32562
