The Navarre Lady Raider volleyball team had its season end last year on their home floor by Gulf Breeze.

They got a little bit of revenge Thursday as they rallied from two games to one down to beat the Lady Dolphins 23-25, 25-11, 19-25, 25-14, 15-10. The win gave Navarre sole possession of first place in the district, as well as perfect (11-0) on the season.

Navarre scored the first two points of the game before a kill from Brittany Wheeler and a point on serve from Tristan Powers tied it.

Gulf Breeze led by as many as four (10-6), but Navarre would rally and lead 19-17 at one point. But the Lady Dolphins, on a questionable call tied the game at 23, got a sideout and a point from Powers to take game one.

The Lady Raiders jumped out to a 9-3 lead in game two after an ace. A pair of Lauren Alverson serves got GBHS within three, but from there, it was all Navarre. After Navarre scored five straight points, the Lady Dolphins got no closer than seven in the game.

Two Lacie Brothers serves gave the Lady Dolphins the early lead in game three, but three blocks in a five point stretch gave Navarre a 6-2 lead.

Neither team could string together points on serve as 14 of the next 19 serves were sideouts.

A GBHS sideout, followed by five straight points from Powers gave the Lady Dolphins a 17-15 lead. A Navarre sideout, plus two points on serve gave the Lady Raiders an 18-17 lead, but the Lady Dolphins scored eight of the last nine points to take game three. Five straight serves from Alverson, including two aces, and a kill from Brothers closed it out.

An ace from Celia Eddy tied game four at five, but from there, Navarre took off, scoring 17 of the next 20 points. GBHS called timeout twice during the run, but couldn't stem the tide.

An ace from Jasmine Crowell tied game five at nine, but the Lady Raiders scored six of the last seven points to close out the match.

Eddy had 12 kills for Gulf Breeze and eight blocks. Brothers added seven kills, while Tobie Bass had six kills and eight blocks. Powers had 10 23 assists and 10 digs, while Deannette Zuniga set a careerhigh in digs for the third time in as many days with 20. Alverson added 10 digs.
