The women chit-chat about anything and everything. This is great for moms whose kids have all gone to college or women who have no kids at all. Maybe you just need a break from all the kids at home! Call the church office at First Baptist Gulf Breeze to reserve your seat - 850-932-2207 Interfaith Ministries to hold fundraiser Interfaith Ministries is having a live auction and luncheon Oct. 6 at the First Baptist Church in Gulf Breeze. They are auctioning off items that have been donated to the thrift shop plus items donated by individuals especially for this event. The auction preview is scheduled for 9 am and the auction will begin at 10 am. A luncheon, with a tantalizing menu of barbeque pork or chicken, baked beans, cole slaw, Texas toast plus a drink and dessert, will be served at 11:30am. Advance luncheon tickets cost $7 and tickets at the door cost $8. You may eat-in or take-out. All proceeds will go toward the mortgage on the Interfaith Ministries thrift shop building. Community Life Center focuses on leadership Gulf Breeze may get a chance to host the Leadership Summit in 2008. The Leadership Summit was recently held live on Aug. 9 through 11 at Willow Creek Community Creek Campus, in South Barrington, Ill. and over 130 satellite locations, including Gulf Breeze United Methodist Community Life Center (CLC) in Gulf Breeze. The Leadership Summit is designed for and open to the entire leadership team-staff and volunteersi n n o v a t o r s within the community, emerging leaders and students with leadership gifts. Pastor Curtis Huffman recently went to Chicago, Ill to regroup. Huffman and CLC leaders met with Bill Hybels to hold a debrief. Huffman returned to let the Community Life Center know that Gulf Breeze would be given the opportunity to host The Leadership Summit event in 2008. GBUMC releases fall schedule The United Methodist Women (UMW) of the Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church (GBUMC) will meet on Oct. 4 at 10:30 a.m. in the fellowship hall at the GBUMC Main Campus, located at 75 Fairpoint Drive. A Covenant Hospice counselor will talk about her work with children who have terminal illnesses, and a representative from Guardian ad Litum Program will talk about the volunteers who act as a voice for children in court cases involving custody issues. The program will be followed by election of 2008 UMW officers and a luncheon. The cost is $6. All women are invited. Please make luncheon reservations by Monday, October 1, with Terrie Diamond by calling 850-932-3594. "Finding God's Peace in Your Daily Chaos" is a Bible study by Cindi Wood that will meet every other Friday at 10 a.m. in Holley-by-the-Sea, Navarre. Fall registration continues for piano, voice, guitar, bass, trumpet, violin and drum lessons in the School of Music and The Arts.
