Emerald Coast Woman's Club Presents Check to Santa Rosa Kid's House

Members of the Emerald Coast Woman's Club (ECWC) presented a check in the amount of $4,326.00 to the new Santa Rosa Kids House as a contribution towards building the facility in Milton. Club members Hilde Neal, Shirley Mosher, ECWC Vice President Nancy Forester and ECWC President Janis Fort delivered the check to Karen Cook, Milton Chief of Police Gregory Brand, Drew Cowen, Lisa Eddins, Jeanna Olson and Bob Cowen.

Music Study Club

Pianist Stephanie Bova, a Music Study Club scholarship winner, will perform for the club on Oct. 10, at 10 am at the First Baptist Church Chapel, located at 500 N. Palafox Street in downtown Pensacola. This event is free and light refreshments will be served. Gulf Isle Neighbors

Gulf Isle Neighbors began their new season with a great social gathering, a fashion show and a luncheon on Sept. 12 at the Pensacola Civic Center. The fashion show was presented by Kohl's. A variety of fall fashions were modeled by Gulf Isle Neighbors members Sally Muldoon, Shawn McCortney, Mary Claus, Mary Anne Edgar and Faye Powers. J. Matthew Heaney, Kohl's Men's Department Supervisor, narrated the show and Okasana Cathey, Kohl's Woman's Department Supervisor, coordinated the clothes with the models.

The social gathering began at 11 a.m. and the program began at 11:30 a.m. followed by lunch. Following lunch Nancy Wyze, President, handled the business meeting with aplomb.

Gulf Isle Neighbors starts its fundraising season with a bingo brunch on Oct. 10 at the Pensacola Civic Center. Tickets are$15 per person and includes brunch and one bingo card. Checkin is at 10:30 a.m., brunch is at 11:15 a.m. and bingo is from 12:15 to 2 p.m. For reservations, please call 850-934-2845 by Oct. 5. Join them for fun, friendship and an opportunity to support local charities.

2007 Navarre Beach Fall Festival of the Arts

Navarre Beach will hold its annual Fall Festival of the Arts on Oct 12, 13 and 14 on Navarre Beach behind Cocodries Restaurant. The Greater Navarre Beach Arts Association hosts this event and will have over 60 artists and professional crafters, a variety of food vendors, drinks, children's art activities on Saturday and Sunday and a host of entertainment from Friday at 6 p.m. to Sunday at 5 pm. This event is free to the public.

Gulf Breeze Optimist Club

Gulf Breeze Optimist Club held its annual Installation of Officers Banquet Sept. 18 at St. Ann Parish Hall.

The new officers are Ray Shane, president; Jim Cibula, vice president; Alex Goldberger, secretary; Bill Stanford, treasurer; and Dick Snyder, presidentelect.

Gulf Coast Friends

New World Landing in Pensacola was filled with energy and excitement on Thursday, Sept. 13, as Gulf Coast Friends met to reconvene and enjoy a lovely brunch after taking the summer off. There were 92 members, 10 guests, and 4 new members present. President Jane Arnott opened the business meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and asked the officers to present their respective reports and then opened the floor to discuss new business. The upcoming Gulf Coast Friends Arts and Craft Fair charity event, to be held Nov. 8, was also discussed. Many interesting and exciting ideas for this event were shared and each member was encouraged to invite a friend.

The next meeting will be will be held at The New World Landing on Thursday, Oct. 11. Fashions by Lee Tracy of Quietwater Beach will feature a fashion show with the latest in fashions modeled by members of Gulf Coast Friends Some great fashion tips with a lot of surprises are promised. Makeup will be done by Sylvia Smith and Liza Reddish.

Santa Rosa County Republican Women

The Santa Rosa County Republican Women's Network is really becoming active in this area. President Barbara Oliver held a lively board meeting at her home on Monday, Sept. 17 to review the by-laws and to discuss plans for the next six months.

The total group met on Tuesday, Aug. 28, at the IHOP restaurant in Gulf Breeze. Ann Bodenstein, Santa Rosa County Supervisor of Elections was the guest speaker and was introduced by Oliver. Bodenstein gave a very interesting talk about the election process and the changes that have been made for the upcoming election and answered the many questions members had about the election process.

The Santa Rosa County Republican Women's Network met again on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at the IHOP restaurant in Gulf Breeze. Oliver introduced the guest speaker, Superintendent of Schools John Rogers. Rogers gave an interesting talk and opened the floor to questions.

The next meeting will be on Oct. 29.
