Mildred Bowen Busbee, 89, died Saturday, September 8, 2007 after a lengthy illness. She was born in Pensacola on June 11, 1918 to Thomas and Theodosia Bowen. Mildred spent twenty years as a military wife, raising her children in Navy towns including, in addition to Pensacola, Norfolk, Memphis, Oakland, Hawaii and Corpus Christi, before returning permanently to Pensacola in 1959. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Andrew Busbee. She is survived by her three sisters, Elizabeth Riordan, Doris Richoz, and Gloria Boysen, all of Pensacola; three sons, James Lee and his wife, Page, of Pensacola, Dale Hostick and his wife, Wanda, of Atlanta, Thomas Willson and his wife, Shirley, of Morehead City, NC; her daughter, Elizabeth Willson of Pensacola; her stepson Ronald Busbee and his wife Phyllis; and by 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 4 great-greatgrandchildren. Visitation was September 15, at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, September 29, 2007 in St. Michael's Catholic Church by the Rev. Peter A. McLaughlin.
