Boys CC wins first two meets

The Gulf Breeze boys cross country team opened the 2007 season with a win in a preseason meet Sept. 11 at the Pensacola Equestrian Center.

The Dolphins finished with 51 points, followed by Pine Forest (61), Jay (92), Catholic (100), Rocky Bayou (136), Tate (166), West Florida Tech (180) and East Hill (192). GBHS' places and times are as follows:

11) Tommy Gibble 19:50
12) Chad Robin 19:58
15) Aber Wilson 20:10
18) Kurt Mason 20:39
19) Davis Thomas 20:39
21) Andy Eskridge 21:40

Without two of their top runners, the Dolphins won the 1A-2A division of the Emerald Coast Eye Opener Saturday in Niceville.

Gulf Breeze finished with 34 points, followed by Jay (59), Catholic (75), South Walton (159), Wewahitchka (163), Pensacola Christian (175), Arnold (179), Marianna (180), Rocky Bayou Christian (186) and East Hill Christian (228).

Emily Tryon was the overall winner in the 1A-2A division, with a time of 21:28, as Gulf Breeze took third in the team competition with 81 points.

Rocky Bayou Christian was the team winner (52), followed by Jay (58), GBHS, Arnold (90), South Walton (101), Pensacola Christian (143) and Catholic (152).
