Nicholas-Parker ICF homes make sense
Nicholas-Parker Construction (850) 981-9072

Nicholas-Parker ICF construction homes resist most of the elements that destroy "stick" constructed homes, such as fire, wind, flood, termites and mold, and they are energy efficient.
A Nicholas-Parker home is stronger, safer and more energy efficient because it uses the newest technology in ICF, or insulated concrete form construction.

Nicholas-Parker owners Jerry Barron and Brandon Gallups are specialists in creating homes that resist fire, termites, mold and wind over 200 miles per hour.

Additionally, Nicholas-Parker ICF homes save homeowners up to 50 percent on energy bills and property insurance.

"The six-inch core wall is rated at R53," Barron says, referring to the energy rating.

"The sooner you build it and start using it, the sooner you start saving money," Barron added.

Nicholas-Parker is the area's leading ICF builder because they have engineered the process to make it comparable in cost to traditional "stick" construction.

Some of the reasons ICF performs so well is that it sets-up to 130 percent of its poured strength. An ICF compression test is more than twice that of CMU block. Wind load tests show ICF (8" core) is 50 percent stronger than an 8-inch CMU block wall. Studies are now being conducted at area air force bases to show how much better ICF walls withstand bomb blasts than traditional construction methods.

Concrete homes offer the structural integrity and raw strength of concrete, poured inside thick extruded polystyrene foam forms and reinforced with horz and vert runs of rebar to provide a quieter, safer, and economically heated and cooled home. Concrete homes are about taking home building to the next step. These ICF homes are high quality, affordably maintained homes built with proven superior technology. Homeowners along the Gulf Coast are increasingly choosing ICF construction to combat mold. Stachybotrys in various strains occurs widely in North America, and requires watersoaked cellulose (wood, paper, cotton) to grow. Stachybotrys is most insidious because it is fed by wood homes and infects the occupants when inhaled. The concrete home does not provide the food necessary to support mold, mildew or any sort of toxic fungus. While some harmless varieties of mold have been found in concrete homes, this was caused by poor selection of finish materials.

Nicholas-Parker ICF homes are environmentally friendly not only because they save energy over the life of the home, but also because they do not require the destruction of trees.

"We also build safe spaces as additions to regular framed homes," Barron said, adding that a safe space can save hours of frustration when an evacuation order is issued. "Just plug in your small generator, and you are comfortable in your own home," Barron said.

Build Wise. Build Strong. Build a custom concrete home.
