Car stolen in GB proper
FROM STAFF REPORTS Gulf Breeze News news@gulfbreezenews.com

Gulf Breeze Police are currently investigating three vehicle break-ins and one vehicular theft that occurred last week.

According to police reports, a white 1997 Acura with license tag number T434PB was stolen from the 100 block of Stearns Street on Sept. 15. The vehicle was described as having a bike rack. The report states the victim returned home at about 10:30 p.m. Sept. 15 and reported his car stolen at 8:28 a.m. the next morning. The report said the victim's wallet was in the car. When the victim called to cancel his credit cards, he discovered that over $700 had been charged to his cards at a Wal-Mart in Pensacola and $9.27 was charged at a gas station in Pensacola.

Two of the break-ins being investigated occurred in the same apartment complex the night of Sept. 11. According to police reports, a black Jeep Wrangler and a brown and white PT Cruiser were broken into at the Bahama Bay Club condominium complex. The reports stated the Jeep's vinyl rear window was pushed in and a black and gray nylon tackle box was reported stolen. However, two fishing rods, valued at approximately $150 each, were not stolen from the vehicle. The same night, police say suspects stole several items, including approximately $50 in quarters, from the PT Cruiser. That vehicle's owner said he locked the vehicle that night, but police said there was no evidence of a forcible entry.

On Sept. 13, another car was burglarized during broad daylight as the owner went inside a store for only a few minutes. A police report said the owner of a Mazda 626 locker her car and went into the Dollar General store at the Beach Road Shopping Center for 10 to 15 minutes. She returned to find her passenger-side window smashed and her wallet missing.

"The two [incidents] from Bahama Bay are probably related," said Lt. Rick Hawthorne with the Gulf Breeze Police Department. "The other one [in front of the Dollar General] could be related, but it was in a different location during the day."

Anyone with information about the crimes described above should call Gulf Breeze Police at 850-934-5121.
