Bryant
A Navarre man was stabbed and another beaten with a metal pipe at a party in Navarre on Sept 12. Sheriff's deputies arrested Christopher Delaine Bryant of Navarre, 19, on two counts of aggravated battery.

According to a report from the Santa Rosa Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to an emergency call at approximately 10:45 p.m. in the 1800 block of Esplanade Street in Navarre. Upon their arrival, deputies found John Abegg, 20, standing next to a truck that had been backed into a telephone pole. In another vehicle parked next to the truck deputies found Dennis Abegg, his 18-year-old brother, bleeding from three stab wounds on his left shoulder and lower back. Both victims were from Navarre.

The report states John Abegg told deputies that Bryant stabbed his brother during the fight. The report states John Abegg was struck in the lower back and legs with the metal pipe. Abegg said he then attempted to leave the scene in his truck and accidentally backed in to the telephone pole. Dennis Abegg also retreated from the scene in a vehicle, pulled up next to his brother and told him he had been stabbed.

Dennis Abegg was transported to Baptist Hospital in Pensacola. John Abegg refused to be transported to the hospital and told deputies that he would go on his own. Dennis Abegg was treated and released from the hospital.

According to the report, witnesses at the scene verified that Bryant brandished a metal pipe and a knife during the altercation. Bryant was located at the scene and arrested. As of Sept. 17, Bryant was being held at the Santa Rosa County Jail on a $20,000 bond.
