Dolphins compete in four team meet

The Gulf Breeze boys golf team played in a four team match at Scenic Hills Sept. 4 against Catholic, Milton and Pace.

Catholic won with a score of 154, followed by Pace (161), Milton (169) and Gulf Breeze (180).

T.J. Jordan birdied the 17th hole (all four teams played the back nine) and parred 14 and 18 on his way to the 44.

Patrick Dorsey parred 12 and 14 on his way to a 44, while John Foryt also shot a 44.

Jordan Mitchell shot a 48, while Evan Smith parred 10 and 17 on his way to a 51. Grant McCormick was again out with a knee problem.

Mike Genovese and Justin Stills of Catholic were low medalists with 36s, while Pace's Jake Bradley and Tyler Klava both shot 37.

The Lady Dolphins played in a four-team meet Sept 4 at Rocky Bayou in Niceville against Niceville, Choctaw and Fort Walton Beach. Niceville won with a 160, while GBHS was second (168), Choctaw third (180) and Fort Walton fourth (190).

Sarah Hicks led GBHS with a 37, followed by Kristen Dorsey (39), Ashleigh Ryals (42) and Angela Whidby (50).

The Lady Dolphins then travelled to Navarre to face the Lady Raiders at The Club at Hidden Creek. GBHS won with a 170, while Navarre shot a 234.

Dorsey led Gulf Breeze with a 39, followed by Hicks (43), Ryals (43), Whidby (45) and Courtney Trevino (45).

The boys team hosted West Florida Tech and Pine Forest Tuesday at Tiger Point before playing at Stonebrook today. The girls played Pace, Choctaw, Niceville and Fort Walton at The Moors Tuesday before playing Navarre at Hidden Creek today.
