A short-handed Lady Dolphin volleyball team made 23 passing errors in a 25-19, 25-18, 25-20 loss to Catholic Sept. 4 in Gulf Breeze.

The Lady Dolphins (2-1) played without outside hitter Lacie Brothers, who sustained a concussion in GBHS' five-game win over Washington. She should play this week against West Florida Tech and Pine Forest.

A Tristan Powers serve made it 3-1 before Catholic (2-0) scored 10 of the next 12 to take an 11-5 lead.

Gulf Breeze got no closer than five in that game.

A kill from Tobie Bass, who had six in the match, made it 6- 4 in game two before Catholic erupted again, scoring 16 of the next 18 for a 20-8 lead.

Gulf Breeze used serving from Bass and Jasmine Crowell to get within five before Catholic closed out game two.

Gulf Breeze led 12-8 in game three and led as late as 17-15. But Catholic would force a sideout and scored four straight serves to take the lead for good.

Celia Eddy had 10 kills and four blocks, while Crowell had four kills. Alison Milam led the defense with six digs, while Powers had five digs and 13 assists.
