Rotary Reverse Raffle raising funds for scholarships

Rotary is hosting its third annual Reverse Raffle to raise funds for the four $5,000 scholarships it awards each year. A limited number of $50 tickets are sold, and are entered into the 'pot' to be drawn out....one by one....until three tickets remain.

Third prize is $500, second $1,000 and first prize $4,000.

Last year there was a prize given away for every 8 tickets drawn. All the proceeds from the event fund the Gulf Breeze Rotary Scholarship Fund and other organizations that Gulf Breeze Rotary supports such as Camp Happy Sands, the Autism Camp and others.

Last year, 240 tickets were sold, so odds are pretty good....better than the Lottery by a long shot. Each ticket admits two to the event as well which is lots of fun! The event is October 23, at New World Landing from 5:30-8pm. Hors de oeuvres and a cash bar will be available. MC's for the evening will be none other than Mr. Sunshine himself, Jim Reeves, and Jerry Blacklaw.

GBMS Band fundraiser running through Sept. 25

The Gulf Breeze Middle School Band is having its annual fundraiser Sept. 7-25.

The band students will be selling flags for your home and garden, chocolates, cheeses, magazine subscriptions and coffees.

Please support these young people as they try to raise money for the program. All items are 100 percent satisfaction guaranteed.

Fundraising for 2008 Science Olympiad underway

Fundraising has begun for the Science Olympiad teams in Gulf Breeze.

Your support for this program is much appreciated through financial donations, coaching events, or just by saving the green Bruno's receipts for purchases made from August 2007 through May 2008.

Leave your green receipts at the customer service desk in Bruno's on Gulf Breeze Parkway. Tell the clerk which school you want to support and they will put the receipt in the appropriate box for you.

Receipts can also be left in student services at the high school or at the front office at the middle school.

GBHS PTSO looking for new members

The Gulf Breeze High School's Parent Teacher Student Organization is seeking new members for the 2007-08 school year.

Membership dues are $10 for an individual and $20 for a family membership. Afree student directory is included with a membership. Projects that benefit from the PTSO are College Fair, Baccalaurate, Project Graduation, among others.
