911 is joking your town
Letters to the Editor

March 2007 our family experienced a traumatizing event which included Santa Rosa County deputies, after our plea for help via a 911 call. Space constraints will not allow details:

Called 911--our younger son was attacked by individuals living in the rental house across from us

Landlord - deceived into thinking he was renting only to a young couple with a baby; not aware of the heavy traffic in/out of that house, the much consumption of alcohol by minors as was the night of the attack. We and other neighbors had reason to believe that a "drug house" was in the making or perhaps already established.

FALSE information from these individuals given to deputies; younger son arrested, Name calling by deputy: "liar", "[homosexual slur]" and at later date "gun wielding idiot".

Deputy entered our home WITHOUT our permission or a warrant and searched our home; seized older son's property

Charges dropped, son attending school in another state, couple evicted; however our civil rights, liberties violated; illegal search & seizure; false arrest, etc. Our meeting with Sheriff Hall was less than satisfactory, not even an apology.

Santa Rosa County 911-callers BEWARE!
