ClassicFest sizzles for bay area crowds
The full line up of concerts includes: On Friday, Sept. 14, at 7:30 p.m., "Just Great Chamber Music" features Mozart's "Piano Quartet in E-flat," Janacek's "Violin Sonata" and Brahms' "Piano Quintet in F." Performers for the evening include: Soovin Kim, violin; Jessica Lee, violin; Hsin-Yun Huang, viola; Wilhelmina Smith, cello and Pedja Muzijevic, piano. The series continues Saturday, Sept. 15, at 7:30 p.m. with "Music from Copland House" featuring Music under "Five Musical Flags." The evenings selections will include music from Manuel de Falla, of Spain, Maurice Ravel of France, Frederick Delius of Britain, Louis Moreau Gottschalk of the United States and Aaron Copland and Paul Schoenfield also from the United States. Performers will include Curtis Macomber, violin; Wilhelmina Smith, cello; Nancy Allen Lundy, soprano; Pedja Muzijevic, piano and Michael Boriskin, piano and artistic director. The festival concludes Sunday, Sept. 16, at 3 p.m. with "Bach & Beethoven: Schumann's Muses" Musical selections will include: Bach's "Partita in d minor for solo violin," Beethoven's "Piano Quartet" and Schumann's "Piano Quartet" Performers will include: Soovin Kim, violin; Hsin-Yun Huang, viola; Wilhelmina Smith, cello and Pedja Muzijevic, piano. Tickets for the series are $55 for adults, $50 for seniors and students. Tickets for individual concerts are $20 for adults and $18 for students and seniors.
