SHERRILL E. "THEBEAR" KITTS 1928 - 2007
Sherrill E. "The-Bear" Kitts, 79, of Gulf Breeze, died Sunday, August 19, 2007.

Mr. Kitts was born March 06, 1928 in St. Albans, West Virginia to Sherrill W. Kitts and Garnett Henderson Kitts. He retired from the U. S. Navy after 23 years of service. Upon his retirement fro the Navy Mr. Kitts became a policer officer with the Gulf Breeze Police Department and retired from there after 22 years of service. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Police and was voted Lawman of the Year.

Survivors include his wife, Viola Kitts of Gulf Breeze; daughters, Diane Kitts of Pensacola and Jodyrae Killingsworth of Milton; brother, Ronald Kitts of St. Albans, WV; grandchildren, Dawn, Shannon, christopher, Timothy, Nicholas, Clay, Alexandria and Alec; and numerous great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel.

Entombment followed at Bayview Memorial Park with full military honors.

BAYVIEW FISHER-POU CHAPEL, 3351 Scenic Highway is in charge of arrangements.

The family received friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, August 21, 2007 at the funeral home.
