Consignment Furniture of Gulf Breeze is now the new "J. Miller's Furniture."

The first Consignment Furniture store in Gulf Breeze opened in October of 1997 in the Gulf Breeze Shopping Center, near what was then called Delchamp's. In January of 2000, the store moved to its present location in the Live Oak Shopping Center, near what is now Office Depot.

A second location opened on Nine Mile Road in Pensacola in September of 2003. Now, a third location is open in Destin.

Owners Justin and Windy Miller have four children:

Hannah, Isabel, J.B. and Sophie.

"Believe it or not, I started the first store with an old van, very little money, very little furniture and high hopes," Justin Miller said. What's more remarkable is that he was just 24 years old at the time.

J. Miller's Furniture now offers a complete design studio, directed by inhouse designer Jon Fortuna. J. Miller's offers many fine brands, including Drexel, Lexington, Hooker, Kathy Ireland by Standard Furniture, Home Elegance, Albany, Stanley Chair and Hickory Chair.

And, J. Miller's continues to offer high quality pre-owned furniture, art and accessories that meet their exacting standards. Consigners can be comforted by the fact that their items can be appraised at one of the J. Miller's or Consignment Furniture locations or at their homes by appointment for a small fee.

"We will have a consignment team come to your home, appraise the item and pick it up," Miller said, adding that it keeps strangers from entering your home to view the items.

Since J. Miller's has over 30,000 square feet of showroom, there is plenty of room to display consigned items and several thousand potential buyers viewing the merchandise on a weekly basis. Most preowned items sell within two weeks and payment is made on a weekly basis.

The best part is that customers can select new or preowned furniture to complete the function and design of their home.
