Police seek wallet thieves

A couple suspected of stealing a wallet, right, appeared on tape at the Dillards in Fort Walton Beach, according to the Santa Rosa Sheriff's Office.
The Santa Rosa County Sheriffs Department is looking for two people suspected of snatching a woman's wallet as she perused the isles of Winn Dixie in Navarre on Aug. 19.

Investigators believe the suspects used stolen credit cards to purchase items including gift cards and other merchandise valued at over $700. One of the gift cards was later used in Kenner, La. before it could be cancelled.

Police say the couple were caught on tape by a security camera using stolen credit cards at a Dillards department store in Fort Walton Beach.

Anyone with information leading to their identification or whereabouts can call the Santa Rosa County Crime Stoppers at 850-437-STOP.

Santa Rosa County Crime Stoppers, Inc. is a nonprofit organization supported by community members, local businesses, media and local law enforcement.

The purpose of Crime Stoppers is to gather information leading to the solution of investigations and the prevention of crimes. Information is gathered so that those providing details or clues receive a reward while remaining completely anonymous.

Cash rewards of up to $1,000 are offered if the provided information results in the arrest of a fugitive, the resolution of an open case or the prevention of crime.

Crime Stoppers relays information to local law enforcement agencies, like the sheriff's office, while protecting the anonymity of the source.
