Critic's Corner
'Superbad' is the funniest of fall
By DNA Smith "Superbad" Running time: 117 minutes MPAA rating: R

Michael Cera, left, and Jonah Hill star in "Super Bad," a raunchy comedy that depicts the two teens and their absent minded antics.
If you loved "The 40-Year- Old Virgin," "Knocked Up" or "Talladega Nights," then you definitely need to catch "Superbad." It is the funniest movie of the fall season. So funny, in fact, you'll need to see it twice because you'll be laughing so hard you'll miss half the jokes. While you're at it, be sure to wear a pair of Depends. And a truss.

Yes. It's that funny.

This raunchy, coming-of-age comedy stars Jonah Hill (Seth) and "Arrested Development's" Michael Cera (Evan) as two high-school seniors trying to hook up with two girls who are clearly out of their league at the last big party before summer.

The overweight, obnoxious and spectacularly jewfro'd Seth has a plan: Get the girls drunk enough so that he and Evan will be That Guy in their sexual history that the girls will regret sleeping with. It's not a noble plan, but it is -- at least in Seth's mind -- the best he and Evan can hope for.

There's a hitch in their plan: The boys are too young to buy the booze, and to make matters worse, they're also entrusted with supplying liquor for the entire bash. So, Seth and Evan are forced to enlist the help of the only other friend they have in the world, Fogell (Christopher Mintz- Plasse), a bony, bespectacled, socially inept nerd who has a fake ID.

From Hawaii. With a huge rainbow across it. And sporting the fake name of "McLovin."

To say that high jinks ensue is putting it lightly. A pair of twisted cops hijack McLovin (and the booze), and Evan and Seth get sidetracked by a creepy pederast and are thrown into bizarre series of events that can't be printed in a family newspaper.

I can't recommend "Superbad" enough. It's one of the best comedies of the year. Be sure to catch it.
