Library changes hours of business

The Santa Rosa County library system will change its hours of operations effective September 1. The changes will allow the library system to run more efficiently and enhance customer service by allowing more staff to be scheduled during peak service times, without increasing staff levels or operation costs.

New Library Hours-Gulf Breeze, Jay, Milton, Navarre and Pace Libraries:

Monday - Thursday: 9 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Friday: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Saturday - Sunday: Closed Daily and hourly checkout statistics show that Saturdays account for only 6.4 percent of weekly checkouts and only 2.9 percent of materials are checked out during week day hours of 7-8 p.m. According to data collected between October 2006 and June 2007, 81 percent of library checkouts occur Monday through Thursday, with over 87 percent occurring during the hours of 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
