Red light camera stifles tourism

I just wanted to say that my family and I enjoyed coming through Gulf Breeze recently on our vacation and that we stopped at several places shopping and enjoyed ourselves in your beautiful town very much. But yesterday I received a citation from your city for running a red light. I have never, nor my husband, gotten any ticket of any kind until now. I do not make a habit of running red lights and I am sure that the light turned red just as I was approaching it. The next time I am in your city and the light turns right when I get to it I am going to make sure that I screech to a halt to avoid a ticket of $100. I hope your town has a good trauma system in place for all the rear-ending these lights cause. And by the way, stopping at red lights will be the only stop I make in your town. I will never stop to shop and bring another dime to your city. Automated traffic lights are a rip off and you know it. It's just another way to bring more money into your city from vacationers. Well, you can rest assured that this will be the only and last way you will get money from me!

Newton, Miss. Bus schedule made available to sex offenders

I have a serious problem with the Bus Schedule being listed in the newspaper for public view. While I understand and can appreciate that it is a public service for the parents within our school systems, I also see how it is a public service to all the child predators and other deviants interested in our children. Although I have had the luxury of being at home when my children arrive from school, there are many of our children that are the classic "Latch Key Kid" and are without supervision for a period of time. We have all heard the horror stories about how "...I only looked away for a second, and he was gone." I can see the ease in picking any address in the (bus schedule), and with a little bit of "research" (the rest of us call that "stalking"), find the perfect child to "love". So while GBN is trying to aid us hectic parents in our quest to get the children back to school in an orderly fashion, they have also created a new threat for us to combat. I only pray that all of our children remain safe during the 2007-2008 school year.

Gulf Breeze

Thanks for news and Sudoku

Hi, my name is Nick Flores and I am a boy scout in troop 11.

I would just like to say thank you for keeping me informed about all that is happening in the sports world and Gulf Breeze. Although it is not sports, I am also glad that the paper added Sudoku puzzles. I wish you would add more comics because I like to laugh.

So thank you.
