Hoe 'n Hum Garden Club

Hoe 'n Hum Garden Club welcomes back its members and guests at a covered-dish luncheon and business meeting Sept. 27 at Karilyn Butler's home with Judy Barousse serving as co-hostess.

The committee chairmen are: Devotion: Georgia Emmett; Parliamentarian: Mattie Mitchell; Programs: Karilyn Butler; Sunshine and Telephone: Tina Davey and Jean Barker; Projects, Ways and Means: Sue Huff and Sara Mae King; Christmas Gifts for the Homeless: Marie Miclo and Sue Edler; Arbor Day: Claire Carlson; Birds and Wild Flowers: Barbara Page; Horticulture and Trees: Helen Corley; and Publicity, Historian and Scrapbook: Ellen Webb.

The object of the club is to promote an interest in gardens, their design and management, to encourage civil planning, to help in the protection of native plants and trees and support local charitable organizations.

The dues for the club are $10 per year. The meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of each month, usually in the members' homes. Persons eligible must live in the vicinity of Gulf Breeze or Pensacola Beach, and they must take an active interest in horticulture. For information contact Ellen Webb at 850-934- 8047.
